Nokia 600 NFC PhoneNokia 600: Nokia’s loudest smartphone

CANCELED

Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja go NFC on the Nokia 600

In the press release many words about NFC technology. Nokia is absolutely right pointing to the NFC sharing and pairing capabilitys. Nokia also provides examples of what is possible: “Gaming fans also benefit from the NFC capabilities of the new handsets with the ability to unlock additional levels in Angry Birds or find a hidden blade in Fruit Ninja just by touching two NFC enabled devices together.” And also from the press release;
Symbian Belle powers the 600 with NFC technology. As well as allowing content to be shared between devices, NFC capabilities allow this new smartphone to pair with NFC enabled mobile accessories such as speakers or Bluetooth headphones and headsets. To extend the range of available NFC enabled accessories, Nokia is also announcing the launch of the Nokia Essence Bluetooth Stereo Headset, which can be paired with any NFC Phone simply by tapping the two devices together.

Nokia will bring secure NFC to the Symbian platform in the first half of 2012, and all the future Symbian smartphones will support NFC.

Update sept.12, I asked Nokia and here the reply; “Secure NFC in this context means secure payment. Nokia is committed to supporting the specification, implementation and introduction of NFC phones with the SIM-based (Single Wire Protocol) secure element.” Source; Nokia Media Relations.
