LG Optimus L5
The Optimus L5 is a midrange Android 4 ICS smartphone, NFC optional. Not much info in the announcement. LG ‘s press release is almost only about the L style design.
LG; “L-Style’s design philosophy is comprised of five aesthetic elements: Modern Square Style for a comfortable grip, Floating Mass Technology for a slimmer look, Seamless Layout for a more intuitive arrangement of keys, Harmonized Design Contrast utilizing metallic accents and Sensuous Slim Shape that naturally draws one’s attention.”
“Floating Mass Technology”; It looks like, what is displayed, is just below the glass surface. This causes a floating screen and slimmer look effect. Description based on experiences of MWC visitors.
Summarized, made from “plastic” with metallic accents, the look and feel is metallic and slim. Beautiful? I think it’s charming, of course that’s personal.
The Optimus L5 comes with a heavy customized UI layer. Mixed opinions about this, some reporters at MWC, Barcelona liked it, others not. The software is beta, they can still make changes to this.
